Food Waste Survey Terms and Conditions
Overview
How to enter
- To enter the prize draw, you must have completed Dorset Council’s food waste survey, ticked the “yes” option on question 25 (section 8) and entered your name and email address where requested, no later than 11.59pm on 26th August 2024. All entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
- All survey respondents that have taken the actions listed in the bullet point above, and who are eligible to enter the prize draw, shall automatically be entered into the prize draw.
- Dorset Council will not accept responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
- By submitting the prize draw entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- Dorset Council reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
- The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
Eligibility
- The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years and over who receive the Dorset Council Recycle for Dorset service, with the exception of Dorset Council employees and elected members.
- In entering, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize you may win. Dorset Council may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the prize draw or competition.
- Prize draw entries cannot be returned.
The Draw
- A winner for the prize draw will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer generated process within 30 days of the closing date, which is 26th August.
- The winner will be notified via email, using the email address given on the application form within 30 days of the closing date. The winner must provide a postal address to claim their prize draw.
- If a winner does not respond to Dorset Council within 14 days of being notified, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and Dorset Council will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
- The prize will be sent to the winner within 28 days of responding to Dorset Council.
- The prize is non-negotiable, non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. Dorset Council reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond Dorset Council’s control makes it necessary to do so.
- The decision of Dorset Council regarding any aspect of the prize draw or competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
- Dorset Council reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
Limitation of liability
- Insofar as is permitted by law, Dorset Council, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Dorset Council, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Data protection and publicity
- By agreeing to be entered into the prize draw, you are consenting to Dorset Council using your email address (provided) to contact you if you are the winner of the random prize draw. This information will be deleted by the team carrying out the consultation after the competition winner has been announced and they have received their prize.
- Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in the Dorset Council's policy on Data protection - Dorset Council.
General
- If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Dorset Council may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
- Dorset Council reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
- These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.
