Corfe Castle and Worth Matravers Housing Needs Survey
Overview
Corfe Castle CLT (CLT) has been working with the Corfe Castle Charity (land owner) and Aster Group (registered provider) to bring forward a piece of land off Tabbit’s Hill Lane, Harmans Cross, for affordable rented homes for those with local connection. This land sits within the Corfe Castle Parish boundary.
As this land is adjacent to Worth Matravers Parish and on the edge of Harmans Cross, we are keen to involve both Corfe Castle and Worth Matravers Parish Councils in the development of this project.
Aster, in collaboration with CLT, are preparing to submit a planning application for the site later in the year and will engage with both Corfe Castle and Harmans Cross villages to discuss plans when they are drawn up. To help with this, the survey will gather evidence of what support there is for affordable housing for the local community.
Corfe Castle and Worth Matravers Parish Councils have been advised of the survey in April and support was given to carry it out.
This survey can be completed by all residents and anyone with a local connection with either of the parishes, regardless of their housing situation.
A local connection means you or your family live or have lived in one of the parishes or you currently work more than 16 hours a week in one or both parishes.
This survey should take between 5 to 15 minutes to complete.

Why your views matter
The purpose of a housing needs survey is twofold. Firstly, to find out whether the community supports the idea of more affordable housing for residents of the parishes. Secondly, to find out exactly who and how many people might need to return or be helped to stay in the community through access to affordable homes.
All responses will be kept confidential, but anonymised comments and reasons may be used in the survey report following Dorset Council Data Protection policy.
