Consultation on Admission Numbers for Sturminster Marshall First School 2026 to 2027
Overview
By Virtue of Schedule 3 of the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013, Dorset Council is required to consult on changes to provision at Maintained Schools including the reduction in Admission Numbers (AN).
The proposed AN will apply to admissions to the relevant age group (the normal year of entry) commencing from the beginning of the school year 2026/27 and for any subsequent school year. Notice is hereby given for the following changes:
School | Current AN | Proposed AN |
---|---|---|
Sturminster Marshall First School | 30 | 15 |
The reason for proposing lower AN is to set a level which more accurately reflects the number of actual admissions and enables the governing body of the relevant schools to plan more effectively for organisational and budgetary needs. Admissions to the schools will be in accordance with the admissions policy.
Any person may submit their comments, both positive and negative, to Ed Denham, School Organisation, Dorset Council, County Hall, Dorchester, DT1 1XJ or through email schoolorganisation@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk by Friday 31 January 2025.
Signed: Paul Dempsey, Executive Director of People - Children, Dorset Council. Date: 11/11/2024
